If you are unsure if guests will dance at your wedding and want them to -- read this blog post!
I may just be a wedding photographer, but BOY OH BOY have I seen a lot of receptions. And, for some (not all) sometimes the guests don't dance :/ and if you are a bride or groom reading this planning your wedding and unsure if people will -- I'm here to tell you that it's all about the environment and how comfortable they are!
First things first, hire a DJ. Just do it. DJ's are a MUST to set up the perfect vibe for dancing. DJ's are literally trained professional fun people. They can get the party started. (Ask me about my DJ preferred list and I'll hook you up with some of the best). Do it, you won't regret it.
Secondly, no one is going to dance unless the couple starts first. (These are definitely unspoken rules) If y'all are dancing, people WILL join. Set the scene and let loose!!! Have fun, your wedding is a big party anyways -- you are there to have a good time!
Thirdly, know your guests. Obviously you know them or else they wouldn't be at your wedding. But I mean, know the vibe of songs they like. Are they more classic rock people, rap people, popular hits, club goers, etc. These are some things to think about when making your wedding reception playlist. Don't make it one singular genre. That isn't going to get people dancing if they don't like the music! Also, let guests request songs. If you want the people to dance, they will request things to get them to dance ;)

Over the years that I have been attending weddings, I have complied a playlist of songs titled "songs that get me hyped" that I play on my way to and from every wedding. These songs get the good vibes going and get my energy up! Let's deep dive into my playlist for what will make the PERFECT reception!
