Going Full-Time & What's Next for Olivia Rodriguez Photos

As some of you may or may not know, I announced that I was officially going full-time as a photographer a couple weeks ago on my Instagram & Facebook. This decision has been a couple months in the making, and I took into accounts of all of the pros and cons of it.

One of the main concerns for anybody perusing their business and employing themselves is what if I fail. What if this doesn't work? What if I don't make enough money? What if no one wants to book with me? There are so many what if's and so many doubts, and honestly it was hard to overcome those fears.

I talked to many of my closest photographer friends, my partner, and my family to really talk about and consider my decision to go full-time. And they were so supportive, and so persistent on me following my dreams and believing in my business. The majority of my family is entrepreneurs and so I always had that drive to be my own boss. My father's parents came to America in the late 60's early 70's and wanted to live the American dream. My grandfather built his business up from the ground, and when my dad grew up he did the same thing. It is in my blood to be a boss, basically.

What's next for me? I want to continue to grow. I want to continue to meet new people, and capture more memories for my couples. I am constantly learning, and constantly growing and I want to make sure that my business is constantly improving. Because if you aren't improving you aren't growing.

If you are a photographer, and you are reading this right now and currently working your 9-5 job and are contemplating quitting and doing this full-time. Weigh out the numbers, invest in your business, and photograph as much as possible and get so much experience and do it! The vision only works if you work for it. What you want to succeed, God will allow. Trust in your gut, and trust in God.
